Anyway, the lyrics to the song itself are actually really impressive and as much as I dislike Solange, I must admit that I really like this song.
I was a little different
I didn't do what the fast girls do
study my rhythm,
you can speed me up when you want to, ooh
they were too cool to run my race
you kept the pace with a smile on ya fave
go head baby
then I knew he was you
But first you took me around
introduced me to your family and friends
and told them how that once we met that
we could never lose
oh boy
I decided that you are the him for me
Oh boy
Because...
I decided that you are the him for me....
Such a happy, upbeat, love song! I [love] it...and it's probably gonna be stuck in my head for hours on end now..but it's such a cute song.
So who do you guys think did a better job with the song:: Leah LaBelle or Solange Knowles?
Personally, I think Leah has a better tone of voice and range for the song than Solange. She's so adorable and her voice is absolutely perfect...[[sigh]]
Solange performing on the Early Show...a mess..[[smh]]
Sorry, I couldn't upload the official video but if you get a chance, you should definitely take a gander....I am a little creeped out by the video for this song...I don't get the concept. I get the whole Supremes thing and all that, but what I don't understand is what the footage in the background is supposed to connect to...I don't really see any connection with this song and revolutionaries like Malcolm X or Hugo Chavez...and then all of a sudden Solange is in outer space?! Come on, girl, I know you're trying to make a career for yourself but this is just not working for you....She needs to develop a look...something that really represents her. All of this technicolor, throwback Supremes except you're really trying to be your sister in Dreamgirls thing has got to go...okay, girl?! Got to go...!
